Mom!!! and Rest of family!!

Holy cow I miss your guys guts! But guess what I am doing fine. This week has been lonnnng! But so amazing in so many different ways. Can I just say first of all I am NOT homesick. How amazing is that? I miss you guys but I have not felt homesick once, the lord has definitely been blessing me. I have never prayed so much in my life it is truly amazing.

One thing that is hard for me is that I am a perfectionist and I don't quite have everything down that I want to have. But I'm doing okay. In D&C 123:17 it talks about how I need to just do all I have been doing, then just stand still and the lord will do the rest. It has been hard for me because I have zero patience and the lord knows that, and that's why I have been put with my companion Sister Neville. She is crazy.. She NEVER stops talking and its so hard sometimes. I just have to stop listening because she confuses me so much!! But whatever, I am trying so hardly to just see her through The Lords eyes, and love her. It has been a real struggle, she tests my patience every single minute of every single day. I swear she is just as slow as Riley.. Haha.. She's got such a bright spirit though, and I love that about her. We are the complete opposite but helping each other every day.

This has been very exciting but crazy. We work nonstop, and I have learned so much. Currently I am trying to study the Christ like attributes, so I can be more like our Savior. I have specifically focused on D&C 4 which is all about his attributes and missionary work. I invite you guys to do what I am doing, as a family. Go read that section together, it is short but amazing. Find all of the Christ like attributes in that section and define them as a family. Once you do that, each of you pick one you think you most need to work on, and individually set a goal to work on that. Set a time period you will focus on that goal, and then when you think you have that one better, focus on another. I am doing that, and I have only focused on patience, because that is what I lack most. But it is working.. I challenge you all to do this and see the love you will have for one another!

Also, I want to invite you as a family, to finish the book of Mormon before I get back from my mission. It is so important that we read and understand the book. As we do so, we will be able to feel the spirit like we never have before. Please try and do that. You would only have to read 2 pages a day, and I think that is perfectly possible.

Oh I guess something important that I was really excited about, was that I was called as a sister district leader in my zone. So that was pretty cool, that our president felt I was capable of leading our sisters in the district. I love having the responsibility of leadership.

I am working my heart out, and trying so hard to make you all proud. I am so excited to hear about grams baptism!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tell her I love her, and am so excited and proud of her! It is the greatest decision she will ever make in her life. I will be at her baptism in spirit, and be thinking of her all day, on December 12. Keep helping her, and keep being missionaries in our ward, at home, and with friends.

You are all so amazing and I love you so much!! Thanks for the letters and packages, I LOVE FOOD. And the food here sucks so ya.. it's okay though.

You are always in my thoughts and prayers.
Much love, Sister Kirkman <3

REPORT: Minnesota Minneapolis Mission

The journey is finally about to begin, and I could not be happier.. I report to the MTC in exactly 25 days from now. My mom has asked me to make this blog so she can keep everyone updated on all of my emails that I send. It has been a long journey to get to this point in my life, I have been through some really tough trials but received so many great blessings through them. I am grateful for all of the people supporting me as I take this big step in my life. I know that this is exactly what my Heavenly Father wants me to be doing at this point and I am exstatic to begin the Lords work. I know that this church is 100% true. It has brought so much joy and comfort into my life and I can't wait to share that happiness with the people of Minnesota.

For those of you who would like to contact me while I am out in the field you can do so by sending me emails or writing me letters..
